CUTWORK is a free design studio that runs entirely in your browser · phone, tablet or desktop, nothing to install, no account needed to start. It treats every picture like paper: you cut it, shred it, weave it, run it through a broken photocopier, and put it back together wrong on purpose.

CUTTING

The blade splits any layer in two along the line you drag. The pen draws freehand cutting paths, the lasso and smart select lift pieces out of photographs, and everything you remove waits in a scraps bin · nothing is ever lost, every cut is undoable. AI-assisted tools isolate the subject of a photo, cut out a face, or read the text in an image into fully editable type.

EFFECTS

Forty-five effects grouped the way a print room thinks: cut & paper (shred, weave, stitch, fold, crumple), print & press (photocopier decay, misprinted CMYK plates, riso, halftone, cyanotype, emboss), colour & tone (duotone, palette lock, gradient washes, logo re-inking), distort & focus, and hand & texture (watercolour, ink, film grain, gaussian splat). Every effect previews live, the last one applied to a layer stays adjustable, and effect chains can be bottled into reusable Looks.

TYPE

Set headlines that scale themselves to a box, paragraphs that wrap in linked text frames, type on a hand-drawn path, curved arc typography, vertical tategaki, per-letter colour and per-paragraph fonts · with curated Google Fonts, any Google Font by name, or your own font files.

MATERIALS

Paper stocks that behave like paper: kraft with real fibres, newsprint with show-through, marbled endpapers, blueprint, gold foil, washi tape, postage stamps, satin ribbon · and butter paper, a translucent sheet that frosts and tints everything beneath it. Brushes include chisel calligraphy, stitch thread, neon, fluorescent highlighter and an ink pool that turns your gesture into a solid shape.

OUT

Multi-page documents export as PNG (up to 3×), JPEG, WEBP, PDF, animated GIF with tweening, imposed zine PDFs ready to fold and staple, contact sheets, and layered SVG that opens straight in any vector editor. A CMYK soft proof shows what the press will really give you. Sign in and projects, preferences and assets follow you across devices.

THE MAG

CUTWORK MAG is the monthly magazine assembled from the open wall · publish a page from the studio, and if it's chosen it appears in that month's issue, credited to your @name. Remix-friendly pieces can be opened in anyone's studio, and remixes credit the original automatically.
