3 steps

1. STEP 1 · MARK THE AREADraw the shape you want filled · the lasso, the marquee, the wand or a closed pen loop, they are all the same mark to this. It has to be a DRAWN mark rather than a colour tap if you want the wash to keep its own shape in the record.
2. STEP 2 · POUR ITPress ◌ Wash on the bar that appears. The region fills with the studio colour: soft at the edge the way a wet edge is, the pigment pooled darker at the rim where the water carried it and dried, and the tooth of the sheet showing through. ⁘ Spray lays the same region as specks instead · sparse, even or intense.
3. STEP 3 · CHANGE YOUR MINDTake the Brush and ⌥click the wash. Its own four dials appear · Tone, Pool, Tooth and Soft edge · and it lays down again as you move them, because what is kept is the region and its numbers rather than the pixels. The LIVING row offers it Pours, Blooms and Granulates, which are three things only a region of pigment can do.
