4 steps

  1. STEP 1 · MARK THE TORSO, AND PART ITDraw a figure on one sheet, or bring one in. Take the lasso and mark the BODY · everything but the limbs · then press ⛯ Part on the bar that appears. The marked thing lifts as a piece of its own, the paper closes behind it, it stands on what it came off, and it is pinned where it was attached. That pin is the whole trick: a part pinned at its middle is a sticker, a part pinned at its SEAM swings.
  2. STEP 2 · A LEG IS PART TWICEMark a whole leg and press ⛯ Part. Now pick that leg and mark only its lower half and press ⛯ Part again. The shin lifts off the thigh, stands on it, and is pinned at the knee · which is exactly how a leg is built. Do the other leg, the head and each arm the same way. The layer list sets each part in under what it stands on, so the figure reads as a figure.
  3. STEP 3 · SAY WHAT EACH PART ISPress ⚲ Role on the bar (or right-click the row in the layer list) and pick: Head, Torso, Thigh · left, Shin · left, Upper arm · right, and so on. The row wears one letter for it. Hair, cloth, a tail and ears are FOLLOWERS · they get a Lag and a Softness, so they swing after the piece they hang off instead of with it.
  4. STEP 4 · PRESS IT WALKS THE PARTSOpen MOTION, pick any piece of the figure and press It walks the parts. The thighs swing half a period apart, the knees bend on the swing leg, the feet stay level, the arms answer the legs and the head counter-nods · all on one period that lands on the count. Tempo and Amount tune it. Beside it stand It runs, It waves, It breathes, It nods, It shakes its head, It wags its tail, It flaps and It blinks. Everything laid is an ordinary track: drag its knots, retune it, save it, export it.
